What LinkToVideo Does

LinkToVideo is a browser-based utility that turns a publicly accessible webpage into a controlled scrolling MP4 video. It is designed for product pages, portfolios, articles, reports and other webpages that benefit from a consistent visual walkthrough. LinkToVideo is not a video downloader and does not extract embedded source video files.

How the Product Works

After a signed-in user submits an HTTP or HTTPS URL, LinkToVideo checks the destination for blocked networks and unsafe redirects. An isolated browser opens the page, prepares visible and lazy-loaded content, follows the selected scrolling behavior and records the viewport. The renderer then encodes an H.264 MP4 and uploads the completed file to private storage.

Recording status comes from the processing system rather than a simulated progress bar. A completed recording can be previewed, downloaded through a temporary signed link or deleted from its details page.

Supported Pages and Product Boundaries

LinkToVideo is intended for public webpages that load without authentication. Pages behind a login, password, paywall or CAPTCHA are not supported. A website may also block browser automation, take too long to load or be too long for the selected recording duration. These cases can cause a recording to fail.

The service blocks localhost, private network addresses, cloud metadata services, unsafe ports and redirects to blocked destinations. These controls protect the recording infrastructure and are not intended to bypass a website's technical restrictions.

Privacy and File Retention

Generated videos and thumbnails are stored privately and are not added to a public media library. Download links are short-lived. Signed-in recordings are retained for up to seven days by default, and users can request immediate deletion from the recording details page. Responsible Use

Users must own the submitted webpage content or have permission to record and reuse it. LinkToVideo does not grant rights to third-party text, images, trademarks or other material displayed on a source page.
